Title: Assessment of attitudes and practices regarding onsite sanitation management in Maputo, Mozambique
Magdalena is a Civil Engineering and Water Management student at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. She joined the project in due course of conducting her Master thesis in the field of faecal sludge management, aiming to determine the volume available for end-use. Together with the World Bank’s Water and Sanitation Program she therefore also conducted a household survey to gain more understanding about the attitudes and practises with regard to emptying of onsite systems in Maputo. The expected outcome of this survey is to produce a set of indicators that determine if, how and why an onsite facility is emptied.
